South East Queensland

If you are thinking about visiting South East Queensland, a Filippo’s Tour is the best way to see what is on offer. There are so many fun things to do in this wine and produce region and the best way to find out is to check out the January-December listing on Granite Belt Wine Tourism’s website and for the district’s guide to produce in season, visit http://www.granitebeltwinecountry.com.au/produce-calendar. Filippos Tours can help you with a tour to many of these events.

Stanthorpe is only 2.5hrs by road, south west of Brisbane. The main route through Stanthorpe is the New England Highway. Why not take 3 hours and pull into Aratula or Cunningham’s Gap or Warwick. Take your time as the wine country fun will still be there.

Did you know that Queensland’s highest railway station is situated at The Summit, just north of Stanthorpe. Stanthorpe’s Granite Belt is at an elevation of approx 3000 feet (about 1000m), perched on the northern end of the New England Tableland. It enjoys the coolest and most pleasant climate in Queensland with consistent low humidity and four distinct seasons. These conditions combined with the soil type make the district ideal Wine Grape growing country and enables producers to bring you the very best deciduous fruits and a wide range of seasonal vegetables to enjoy.
